If there is one major principle a PR girl can take from college to the Real World, it's that cheeky saying "Dress Well, Test Well." Well, a great look isn't complete without a killer beauty routine. When we look good, we feel good and our performance for the day will match. Nothing helps us conquer our day more than confidence and a positive attitude, and these subtle products will enhance your natural beauty.
I'm sharing some of my high end favorites, as well as their dupes that will help you achieve the same look for less. Not all makeup is created equal, so I'm weighing in on which products are worth the hype and which ones are worth saving a few dollars. (Maybe put those savings towards those shoes you've been eyeing?)
When it comes to hassle-free makeup application, the beauty blender is an absolute must. The damp sponge will make your go-to foundation look flawless.
Verdict: Between Sephora's Beauty Blender and Ulta's Blending Sponge, these two are basically the same (other than their shape). Save yourself the $14!
Eyeshadow is my favorite makeup to work with, and what truly brings a look together in my opinion. This Tarte palette blends like a dream and even smells like vanilla. However, this Makeup Revolution assortment has similar colors and great reviews.
Verdict: Worth the splurge, but the Iconic Pro palette is a close second!
Everyone wants voluminous and full lashes, and this Too Faced mascara does it all. The thick wand adds volume without clumping, and makes your lashes look pretty close to perfect. Revlon's version has a similar brush style that is great for intending to achieve the same look, but the results just aren't as great.
Verdict: The name "Better Than Sex" is right. Worth it!
A liquid lipstick in the perfect shade is the cherry on top to any makeup routine. Too Faced has a great selection, but NYX has a formula that is just as good with the same colors and beyond.
Verdict: Save and buy two (or three) NYX liquid lipsticks for the price of one Too Faced lip color.
